EMIS™ processes personal information in accordance with applicable South African privacy requirements, including POPIA, and where applicable the principles of the GDPR.
Information collected
Contact details, manuscript and project information, submitted files or text, communications, payment confirmation and necessary technical records.
Purpose and email use
Information is used to assess eligibility, provide the commissioned service, communicate with clients, deliver reports, respond to enquiries and meet lawful accounting or record-keeping duties. EMIS™ does not sell personal information.
Storage, providers and security
Hosting, email, form-processing and payment providers may process only the information necessary to provide their services. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet system can be guaranteed absolutely secure.
Retention and deletion
Working manuscript files are retained only for the operational and review period stated to the client, subject to legal duties, and are then securely deleted. Essential transaction and accounting records may be retained where legally required.
